Turks and Caicos, April 3, 2017 – Grand Turk – A power outage today in Grand Turk is explained this afternoon by FortisTCI. It was an engine fault at the South Base Plant which technicians worked to restore; most got their electricity back within minutes others were inconvenienced up until noon.
The outage was at 11am and FortisTCI explains that technicians are still working and as they try to “normalize generation capacity”, interruptions in service are possible. Customers are reminded that it is recommended to unplug appliances not connected to a surge protector during any power outages.
