Bahamas, April 24, 2017 – Nassau – Team Bahamas did not win the BTC IAAF World Relays held in Nassau over the rainy weekend, but taking the final event in such stellar style made residents of the 242 feel as if they did.

The mix 4x400m featuring two Olympic gold medalists was just untouchable as Shaunae Miller-Uibo, Anthonique Strachan, Steven Gardiner and Michael Mathieu gave an unforgettable finale for Bahamian fans.   The Games were spared the worst of the rain and managed to get done in fine form, with athletes from around the world here for the meet raving about the fans, the culture of the country and the junkanoo music which they loved hearing as they navigated the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium track.

Overall, Team USA was awarded the Golden Baton for a third straight overall win at the relatively new sports meet, 21 points ahead of second place Jamaica at the IAAF World Relays.
