Bahamas, March 3, 2017 – Nassau – An advocate for women and children and an attorney is the replacement to now resigned, DNA Leader, Branville McCartney.   Senator Monique Gomez has been made Leader of Opposition business in the Senate by LOO in the House of Assembly, Loretta Butler Turner.

The Long Island member and McCartney fell out weeks ago after the two claimed diverging stances on whether the DNA and Loretta Butler Turner’s rebel faction would form a coalition.

Butler Turner viewed McCartney’s denial that anything of that nature was being discussed or happening as a betrayal.  McCartney said it had long been clear that an amalgamation was not to be the case, ever.

The public row led yesterday to Branville McCartney resigning as Senator and senate leader for the opposition; he was appointed to the role by Loretta Butler Turner who today informed the Governor General of the replacement.
