Petroleum Industry Consultation ongoing

Turks and Caicos, March 13, 2017 – Providenciales – Consultation has started with petroleum companies to upgrade the laws governing the sector and modernize regulations to ensure storage of their product is happening in a way that does not threaten people or the environment.

Two meetings were last week held in Provo and Grand Turk in what is a Quantitative Risk Assessment led by the Electricity and Utilities Commission and among the issues put to the Petrol providers was licensing, construction and technical standards of storage facilities and emergency scenarios in order to develop proper response to any accidents.
