Turks and Caicos, March 28, 2017 – Providenciales – The National Insurance Board 25th Anniversary Investment Symposium where some 40 delegates from 13 countries are represented opened today at Beaches Resort with the help of TCIs children and its country leader.

The TCI Cadet Corp executed a stellar flags and national anthems parade, Youth Explosion champions from the Wesley Methodist School gave a riveting show of culture including song, dance and costumes, a prayer for singleness of heart among the nations and delegates was brought by Fr. Tellison Glover of the Anglican church, there was a warm welcome by Deputy Chairman of the NIB, Floyd Seymour and the event was chaired by Obrien Forbes, well known charismatic MC.

In her keynote address, Premier and Finance Minister, Hon Sharlene Robinson shared that while the NIB is performing outstandingly well today and is the country’s largest owner of assets at well over $200 million, it needs to live a long life and that will demand, she explained, that innovative strategies be instituted now for the future.

Premier Robinson points out that the NIB, operating as it is today would run out of resources by 2050 and therefore committed her administration to seek out ways for the National Insurance Board to be bolstered and built so that it is not depleted and is always able to respond to the social needs of its contributors.

National songs were brought by the NIB Choir with remarks coming from Reginald Thomas, who flew in from Mexico and is the Director of the Inter-American Center for Social Security Studies.   The Vote of Thanks was proudly delivered by CEO of the NIB, Walter Gardiner.
