Bahamas, March 27, 2017 – Nassau – It is younger Bahamians who are leading the way in registered citizens as we count down now to the 2017 Bahamas  General Election it seems, as the latest figures from the Parliamentary Registration Department reveal that the top age bracket of who is registered to vote are the Millennials

The 18 to 25 year olds make up 13.02% of those on the voter registered as of March 10, 2017.   In fact, over 30% of those registered to vote fall between the ages of 18-35.  There are 22.6% more women registered to vote than men.  And when it comes to the more mature Bahamians – age wise – we see that there is strong interest there too, combined the five groups make up almost 50% of the registered electorate; this is ages 36-60.

Amazingly, there are 9 centenarians registered to vote too; five men and four women 100 years old or older are on the list ready to cast their ballot for their favorite candidate.
