Illegal Work Permit ring busted by Police and Integrity Commission

Turks and Caicos, March 28, 2017 – Providenciales – Police today confirm that their Financial Crimes Unit has uncovered a scandalous forged document ring and arrested two women said to be masterminds in the black market sale of fake work permits.  Government workers, whom Magnetic Media is told are from the recently established One Stop Shop, are 28 and 47 year olds revealed Police today.

In partnership with the Turks and Caicos Integrity Commission, there were searches and the two were arrested for uttering false documents to Haitians and Dominicans.   The Police issued a statement today and explained:  “Detectives have discovered that after valid work permits expired, payments would be made through an agency for renewal and instead of receiving renewed valid work permits these nationals were issued with forged work permits.”

The Financial Crimes Unit is looking for more victims in the matter and asking anyone who believes they have been given false work permits to contact them on 941-4450 or 232-3258.
