Bahamas, March 7, 2017 – Nassau – Hubert Minnis is on the record saying both governments are to blame for the situation now erupted with Jubilee Gardens after a fire broke out on Sunday which forced the evacuation of scores of residents.

The FNM Leader and former Health Minister said while the immediate fix would be to privatize the dump with Bahamian involvement, the wider scope is an education of residents about their environments.  Minnis talked to media about how funds allocated for waste are spent in the National Budget; he said he is not happy with it adding that there is room for recycling and it should be inculcated nationwide.

Currently Environmental Health manages the dump, which lost its investor – Renew Bahamas – in 2014.
