Bahamas, March 30, 2017 – Eleuthera – An adult male from Eleuthera should have been yesterday been charged in court as the first arrest in the voter fraud cases which the Parliamentary Registration Department recently unearthed.   Police swiftly flew to Eleuthera, picked up the suspect and he is now in Nassau processed by the Police Force so that he can face the court on allegations of voter fraud.  Specifically, the man and others registered twice at two different places within their district with the hopes of obtaining two voter cards, likely to vote two times on election day.

The Parliamentary Commissioner, Sherlyn Hall revealed the dastardly and illegal acts of some Bahamians earlier this week and said the computer system caught the attempts.  The voter fraud cases he said were from Nassau, Grand Bahama and some of the family islands.

ACP Stephen Dean in speaking to media said, at the Odyssey airport upon return to Nassau with the voter fraud suspect, that this arrest is an example of what will happen to anyone who tries to break those laws.   The Bahamas nears the 2017 General Election and though a slew of laws have recently been pushed through parliament, there is nothing when it comes to campaign finance reform.
