Turks and Caicos, March 2, 2017 – Grand Turk – The Turks and Caicos Ministry of Health says they are confident Dengue Fever in Grand Turk is contained. During a media meeting officials confirmed extra fogging and exposed that they uncovered some spots at the school where mosquitoes were breeding.
As many as 15 people were suspected to be with dengue fever in the Capital last month; the Minister said this old enemy is just as unwelcomed as Chikungunya and Zika which are both transmitted by the same Aedes mosquito or the house mosquito.
Another bit of advice from Environmental Health Director, Kenrick Neely: ‘change up your bug sprays because the world’s deadliest animal builds resistance to your regular repellant.’
