Bahamas, March 7, 2017 – Nassau – Save the Bays wins and judge awards them legal costs.  The group adamantly fought fashion mogul Peter Nygard and today heard the judge, Justice Rhonda Bain rendered GUILTY for breach of the Supreme Court order by Canadian, Peter Nygard.  Nygard went ahead with dredging near his Lyford Cay home despite being told not to do so by court order in June 2013.  He was found guilty of ignoring the order and violating it in December 2014.

Now he is to pay a $50,000 fine or go to jail.  Nygard also has to bring the sand which he dredged from Jaws Beach back by April 7, 2017 and failure to bring that sand back will attrack another $50,000  fine and $1,000 for every day the sand is late.  Nygard has already said through his counsel, that he will appeal the ruling handed down today.  Nygard has until March 21 to pay the fine.
