Middle Caicos, TCI, February 10, 2017 – Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, Medical Team and the Department of Disaster Management & Emergencies are still on the island of Middle Caicos attempting to recover the body of a male that was discovered yesterday (Thursday 9th February 2017).
The lifeless body of 32-year-old John McGurk of St. Louis, Missouri United States of America, was discovered on the rocks above the shore near the hotel in which he had checked in when he arrived on the island. He was reported missing around 9:12 pm on Wednesday 2017 after he was not seen since Monday 6th February 2017.
In collaboration with the US Coast Guard, significant advances were made to recover the body yesterday but were unsuccessful due to a combination of location and the tide. A number of resources are on the scene today to recover the body.
