Twenty countries convene for Law Enforcement Conference in Nassau

Nassau, Bahamas, February 21, 2017 – Law enforcers of 20 countries are convened in The Bahamas for a four day Pre-International Drug Enforcement Conference being held at the Police Headquarters in Nassau.  A strong focus is on controlling the trend of the resurgence in the popularity of cocaine and the smuggling of it.

National Security Minister, Dr Bernard Nottage opened the event at the Paul Farquharson Conference Center and among the officials attending are US Charge D’Affairs, Lisa Johnson and Special Agent in Charge of the US Drug Enforcement Administration Caribbean Division, Matthew Donahue and Bahamas Police Commissioner, Ellison Greenslade.

Peru and Colombia also have representative law enforcers at the Pre-IDEC which started on Monday.
