Providenciales, TCI, February 23, 2017 – Due to a resurgence in unlawful parking, the Turks and Caicos Islands Airport Authority (TCIAA) wishes to remind the general public that a strict policy of towing vehicles that participate in curbside parking, obstruction of roadways and vehicles that park illegally whilst on airport property remain in full effect.
In an effort to meet and maintain international airport landside security standards, the TCIAA must address unauthorized parking. This established policy assists in alleviating traffic congestion and enhance public safety for all that pass through Providenciales International Airport. All patrons are asked to park in the designated parking lot to avoid sanctions.
Providenciales International Airport is indeed private property and may cause to be towed, any vehicle abandoned, parked in an unlawful or unsafe manner at no expense to the Authority. TCIAA retains the right to decide whether clamping, towing or criminal prosecution may be levied on serious infringements.
Strict measures will be enforced at the entrance road to Rubis TCI and continue throughout the airport property leading to the west. The front of the terminal shall be used for the purpose of pick up and drop off zones ONLY.
Vehicle towing will be carried out by Premier Towing Services owned and managed by Mr Sean Selver as laid out in the Road Traffic Ordinance and as authorized by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force. Owners of towed vehicles will be subject to pay a fee of $175 in addition to daily storage fees.
Unauthorized parking and obstruction may also be ticketed at a rate of $250 as specified in the Road Traffic Ordinance. TCIAA advises that the general public be guided according.
