Nassau, Bahamas, February 4, 2017 – General Elections are not in the near future says Prime Minster Perry Christie during House of Assembly debate. The country’s leader was responding to chiding and said there would be no so called, fast and furious build up to the national vote.

There is a boundaries report which has to be completed and tabled in the House of Assembly and with registration still so low, about half of the voter count in the 2012 run off; PM Christie says the General Elections are not in the near future.  It was explained that the Boundaries Commission report which was due to be tabled since January 9th is slowed because of lackluster voter registration.

The Prime Minster estimates the report should be completed in a week.   The last boundaries report in 2011, was tabled some six months in advance of the General Elections.
