Minnis regains confidence of Butler Turner

Nassau, Bahamas, February 23, 2017 – A plan to remain steady and unperturbed seems to be working for the Free National Movement and its leader, Hubert Minnis who now has regained the confidence it appears of Loretta Butler Turner, who in December saw him ousted as the leader of the Official Opposition in the House of Assembly.

First reports were that the likes of Neko Grant, MP for Central Grand Bahama had left the ‘rebel’ fold; then Andre Rollins of Ft Charlotte told the Speaker and by extension the public that he would do just about anything to get back in league with the FNM and now, the member for Long Island, Butler Turner has turned tail and says she too would realign with the FNM in order to defeat the PLP.

Butler Turner said the FNM, the DNA, the United People’s Movement and the Gatekeepers are not enemies and that if calmer heads could prevail, then a dialogue could happen.  Loretta Butler Turner was speaking to media outside of the House of Assembly yesterday when she explained that she has spoken to all of the parties, but has not had formal talks with the FNM.

The member for Long Island said the Free National Movement is however aware of her interest in an amalgamation of some sort and that if there is a unification of the parties, each can clearly keep their brand of politics.  Even Butler Turner agrees that the division will result in the PLP being returned to power.
