London, England, February 8, 2017 – The Governor promises that the security needs assessment which will be carried out later this month by the United Kingdom will identify exactly what the country needs in order to better tackle crime.

His Excellency, Dr. John Freeman who is out of country in London at meetings with the Premier, said he actually meets today with the team which will carry out the assessment.  Dr. Freeman is adamant that the crime fighting strategy is a whole of government and whole of TCI approach and that a longer term response and more resources are required to do the best job.  The Governor says he understands the public anxiety and explains that the right response is identification at the early arrest of those responsible.

In a separate statement, the Border Control Minister as Acting Premier said the new administration is ready to roll out their 12 point plan.
