Nassau, Bahamas, February 6, 2017 – It was a celebrity wedding of the most indigenous kind for The Bahamas over the weekend when our own Gold Medalist, Shaunae Miller was married on 242 soil Saturday. In what was a jaw dropping ceremony at the ballroom of the Atlantis resort, the social media buzz was fever pitch. There were photos and videos of the room, the entrance of the bride and the ceremony shared by friends and family.
Shaunae, 22 years old won gold in the 400m at the Rio Olympics last year; she also completed college at University of Georgia last year and to start 2017 is married to Maicel Uibo in a wedding reception capped off by a One Family Junkanoo rush out. Many congratulations to you Mr & Mrs. Uibo.
