Providenciales, TCI, February 11, 2017 – The Junior Achievement program uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand the economics of life. In partnership with businesses and educators, JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to use their potential, and challenging them to think creatively and innovatively.

The Junior Achievement TCI calendar year spans September 2016 to April 2017. The program hosted its second tradeshow for the year in the Nation’s Capital at Grand Turk Cruise Centre on Saturday, February 11th, officially launching its partnership with telecommunications giant, FLOW.

“We were more than happy to come on board with the JA program as the title telecommunications sponsor for Junior Achievement 2016-17” said, Darron Hilaire, Marketing Communications Executive, FLOW.   Hilaire further stated, “Programs as such equip young people to think differently about their careers and their futures. It gives young people an opportunity to consider a future characterized by deployment of their gifts, interests, talent and craft as opposed to simply holding down a job.”

On Saturday each of JATCI companies represented displayed a full showcase of their products for two purposes. First, to amass sales from the local community and the visitors to the island entering via cruise. And, secondly, to be openly judged at this second stage of a 3-stage judging process.

Judging the showcase at Magaritaville were Mr. Kenva Williams, Mr. Jamell Robinson, and Ms. Rachel Gregory. Members of the Board present were Ms. Stacy Lawrence (Director), Hon. Temard Butterfield (Director), and Mrs. Angela Musgrove (Chairman).

Participating schools include the Clement Howell High School, HJ Robinson High School, Wesley Methodist High School, Champions for Christ International School of Excellence and Holy Family Academy.
Mrs Musgrove expressed extreme gratitude for the support of telecommunications giant FLOW as the corporate sponsor of the program this year.    “FLOW has once again stepped up to the plate recognizing the importance of inculcating entrepreneurial education and values in our youth and the JATCI couldn’t be happier to partner with them as we empower our young people for economic success.”

The final phase of this program will see students within the program facing a panel of judges as they present Company Report and then receive awards in various categories for their entrepreneurial efforts during the JATCI year.
