Providenciales, TCI, February 22, 2017 – A Turks and Caicos Bahamian and an intruder is how the man killed this morning in an alleged home invasion is described; stabbed to death by the resident, a Filipino man.

An image of the body of the deceased is in wide circulation; laying on the ground, covered in dirt and at least two wounds are visible.  There is one blood stain near the heart, the other at his side.  A trademark tailored beard of the man, who is also bareback in the photograph, is dusty.

We await police to rule on this one but like the killing of James Smith Jr, this man, said to be 28 years old, is described as a ‘prolific offender’ by those Magnetic Media has spoken to in the security industry; a known suspect for crimes of robbery.

Smith, who was murdered last week in Blue Hills was a lead suspect in the August 2015 murder of John Jennings of South Caicos who was shot while playing the slot machine at a lounge in Blue Hills and linked to another murder, in early 2016 where Bachard Walkin was found dead near Walkin Marine in Kew Town.  Magnetic Media is told that evidence against James Smith Jr was insufficient and he was released.  Now, he is recorded as the first homicide for 2017 for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Police are expected to deliver on details in this new investigation from the incident said to have happened at a Kew Town home around 4am, today.
