Davens Smith Plead Guilty to Wounding with Intent

Turks and Caicos, February 27, 2017 – Providenciales – In the Supreme Court today (Monday 27th February 2017), 28-year-old Davens Smith of Kew Town Providenciales, plead guilty to a charge of Wounding with intent.

On Sunday 28th June 2015 in the afternoon, Police Officers and Emergency Personnel responded to a report of a fight in Rooster Black yard in Kewtown.   Upon arrival, officers met a male with a deep laceration (cut) on his forehead and a female also with a deep laceration to her right hand.   They both informed officers that during the fight; Davens Smith held them down while Cherven Almonor and Derrison Missick hit them with cutlass causing them to receive the injuries.

22-year-old Cherven Almonor and 23-year-old Derrison Missick of Kew Town were also charged in connection with this incident.  They both were found guilty last year and were sentenced to two (2) years imprisonment each and also ordered to pay compensation.

Davens Smith is presently on bail and will be sentenced on Friday 28th April 2017.
