Body recovered on Middle Caicos

Middle Caicos, TCI, February 13, 2017 – On Friday 10th February 2017 around 12:30pm, Police Officers and DDME personnel (Department of Disaster Management & Emergencies) have successfully recovered the body of 32-year-old John McGurk of St. Louis whose lifeless body was discovered on the rock above the shore on Middle Caicos. He was pronounced dead at 1:30pm by Dr. Camelia Clarke.

John McGurk arrived on the island of Middle Caicos on Monday 6th February 2017 and checked in at a hotel around 2pm.  Management of the hotel who have not seen him since the check in date, file a report to the police on Wednesday 8th February 2017 at 9:12pm.  As a result, a search was launched.

On Thursday 9th February 2017 around 8:40am, his body was found in an area not too far from the hotel.  The body is presently on Providenciales, awaiting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
