Providenciales, TCI, January 30, 2017 – Several reviews are happening as the new PDM Administration continues to settle into the job of running the country.   Among them are the TCI Hospitals Contract, the National Health Insurance Board and government Statutory bodies will also come under scrutiny.

Several scathing reports of serious allegations of abuse of power, alleged theft from the public purse and charges of ill qualified leadership have surfaced in recent week in relation to at least two significant Statutory boards.   During the recent Cabinet meeting it was explained that, and I quote, Cabinet “Discussed the TCI statutory bodies and was informed by the Hon.   Premier that a review of all statutory bodies would be taken forward soon…”

During a mid month post Cabinet media debrief, the Premier and Finance Minister also shared that it is going to be like peeling away layers when it comes to the health care management situation in the country.  It was said there are legacy issues to be dealt with and other peculiarities which will mean there is no speedy resolve.

During that Cabinet session last Tuesday, it was also shared that the Ministry of Health presented an information paper on the management, financial situation and audit of the National Health Insurance Board.
