Providenciales, TCI, January 13, 2017 –  The new PDM Administration is this week far more familiar with what is in the public purse after its first Cabinet meeting.  In that session, held on Wednesday, Government Ministers were given an information paper from the Ministry of Finance timetable for the upcoming new fiscal year, which begins in April.   There was also a report on national finances by the Chief Financial Officer, Stephen Turnbull.

More information too came in the case of the embattled National Health Insurance Board and it was reported in the notes from the meeting that construction will begin soon for the Eliza Simons primary school new block in Grand Turk as the contract can now be awarded.

Government is also tying up the formal relationship between TCIG and CARPHA; once again media was informed that the instruments would be signed by the Governor and the Premier; the work was started in June 2016 during the 61st annual CARPHA conference held historically in the TCI.

Then Premier Rufus Ewing and former Governor, Peter Beckingham had committed and at an event held at the Grace Bay Club signed instruments to formalize the relationship between the Caribbean Public Health Agency and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
