Election Petition hearing set for March by CJ

Providenciales, TCI, January 12, 2017Four weeks is what the three sides of General Election for the Bight constituency petition have to prepare their skeleton arguments; the hearing is set for March 6, 2017.

The matter debuted in Supreme Court today and was heard by Chief Justice, Margaret Ramsay-Hale, who in addition to setting dates for the preliminary arguments and the actual hearing, said due to the overwhelming interest in the matter, a larger court space may be secured in time for that hearing

Both George Pratt, (PDM) the complainant and Porsha Smith, (PNP) the Member of Parliament and were in court and represented by attorneys.  Alvin Garland of Garland & Co and Ariel Misick of Misick and Stanbrook respectively appeared on behalf of the Bight district candidates.  Attorney General, Rhondalee Knowles is representing the Elections Office in the petition.
