Providenciales, TCI, January 23, 2017 – Robert Been Junior says he will run again in 2020, telling Magnetic Media on Saturday in a one on one interview that while he did not win, his team did.   “Well I know for a fact it has inspired a number of young people, I continue just about every day to get the congratulations, that you have done so well Robert or Bobby, and the words of encouragement are just so much, that people want to see me go back at it again, and I can say and confirm with you today that I’ll definitely be running in the 2020 election.”

At 29 when the race began, young Provo businessman Robert Been Jr was a stunner in the 2016 General Elections falling just over 20 votes short of being the fifth all island member, garnering more voter support nationally than three former country leaders: Rufus Ewing, Michael Misick and Oswald Skippings.

In nearby Bahamas, where the anniversary of the death of his great grandfather, the late Sir Milo Butler, who was the first Governor General in an Independent Bahamas is being remembered; Been is being hailed by his party leaders – Premier Sharlene Robinson and Deputy Premier, Sean Astwood – for his tenacity and sportsmanship, an example that the fire for politics of the people courses through his veins.  Been said he wants to be a part of change for the Youth.

“I’m passionate about the youth of Turks and Caicos.   I really want to see the youths that are in the Turks and Caicos progress.   And as I said during the campaign trail, I have really felt that the youth of Turks and Caicos have been forgotten, and I must say to the youth of Turks and Caicos, I can ensure you that under  a PDM government you will not be forgotten.”
