Providenciales, TCI, December 19, 2016 – National Chairman of the Progressive National Party in a succinct but firm reply to Magnetic Media late today, quashed rumors that Washington Missick, the PNPs All Island Candidate and now former Finance Minister will resign from front line politics and his seat in the House of Assembly.
Royal Robinson says it is not true and adds that Misick, not Ruth Blackman who won in South Caicos, will serve as Leader of the Opposition PNP in the House of Assembly.   On Friday, following a crushing defeat at the polls, Rufus Ewing resigned as leader of the PNP; Dr. Ewing was not re-elected to Parliament.
The former Premier also said he was surprised by the loss, that he never had a desire to be a career politician anyway and that he was quitting politics.
