Providenciales, TCI, December 9, 2016 – The woman arrested in the case of the death of a six year old boy in Bottle Creek, North Caicos will spend life behind bars. Darlene Saint Louis, 34 years old, was on Thursday December 8, 2016 found guilty of the death of her own son in an investigation dating back to September 2015 where the youngster was found unconscious and unresponsive.
The judge in the case gave a zero tolerance speech against child abuse. The trial, which started on November 28 exposed that the boy was found with bruises all over his little body. Police count the close of this trial as a victory in the courtroom in a case which shocked the small communities of North and by extension, all in the Turks and Caicos.
Sergeant Ensa Wilson of the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Unit said, “It is our duty to safeguard all children living in the Turks and Caicos Islands, we encourage persons to report child abuse by making use of all available resources.”
