Providenciales, TCI, December 13, 2016 – Please note, that Environmental Health Officers have noticed that the bottled water supplied by INTERNACIONAL AGUA and located at Teresa Suarez, No. 12, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic are being imported to the Turks and Caicos Islands via the Dominican trading vessel, and are being sold to the general public and supermarkets.
The bottled water (16 oz and 1 gallon) does not carry any best before or expiration dates for these products. We have identified that this practice has become a trend over the past few months. In accordance with the Food and Drug Ordinance 2016 Section 7 subsections 1 and 2, the above mentioned issue will be a violation of the ordinance. This means that all food and drinks must be labelled and packaged correctly giving its shelf–life.
Store owners are hereby advised that all goods must be properly labelled and dated according to the Food and Drug Ordinance 2016. Failure to comply will result in these goods being confiscated and disposed of by the Environmental Health Department.
