Providenciales, TCI, December 21, 2016 – Detectives of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force have arrested a 19-year-old male of Grand Turk for possession of Carrying Unlicensed Firearm and Carrying Ammunition.
The arrest was made on Friday 16th December 2016 around 12:09 am when police officers conducted a stop and searched on a White Infiniti Car in which the accused was a passenger. During the search, officers found a black Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol containing eight (8) rounds of ammunition.
He was taken to the Chalk Sound Police Station and was later charged and cautioned for the offences. He appeared in court on Tuesday 20th December 2016 and is remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until Friday 3rd February 2017.
