Providenciales, TCI, June 17, 2016 – The Grade Six Achievement Test results were published yesterday and Education Minister, Hon Akierra Missick said she was happy to see an increase in passes from the 21 schools sitting the GSAT.  Not only did 417 students pass the exam, but according to the media release, the 2016 results indicate that a total of three hundred and thirteen (313) or 75.1% of the students obtained fifty percent or higher.

This is a rise in the pass rate from 2015 which was 72.1.  “It is a clear indication”, said Minister Missick, “that our primary school age students are continuously raising the bar in their academic achievements; but with a near 3% percent increase in a 12 month period, also indicates we have the best educators in the region, if not the world.”

The top ten students were also named and the top finisher was Sambuta-Jahtee Meier of Precious Treasures International School with a 90.29% grade after sitting the five external examination papers.
