News item on TS Otto issued by the Bahamas Department of Meteorology forecast office section, at 12PM Tuesday, Nov. 22nd, 2016

Nassau, Bahamas, November 22, 2016 – Hurricane Watch issued for Costa Rica and Southern Nicaragua.  At 10:00 EST, the centere of Tropical Storm Otto was located near latitude 10.4 degrees north and longitude 79.2 degrees west or about 330 miles east-southeast of Bluefields Nicaragua or 260 miles east of Limon Costa Rica.

Otto is stationary and a westward drift is expected to begin later today, followed by a faster westward motion on Wednesday.  On the forecast track, Otto should be approaching the coast of Nicaragua and Costa Rica on Thursday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 70 miles per hour (MPH) with higher gusts.  Otto is expected to become a hurricane later today or tonight, with additional strengthening forecast through Thursday.  The next  news item will be issued at 6pm.
