New drainage system worked, says Minister

Providenciales, TCI, November 1, 2016 – Waterlogged areas were only temporarily that way says Minister Amanda Missick who yesterday explained to Magnetic Media that the new drainage system for the down town area, in particular, worked well.   “Happy to report that the new pumps did their job and as a result the cleared drains and well had no problems,” said Minister Missick.

There were complaints said the Minister about the flooding though, which lasted for hours; she said saturated grounds from rain the night before caused the process to be slowed down.  The rainfall on Saturday and Sunday made it starkly clear, once again, that even a few minutes of a deluge will result in severe flooding for parts of Provo.

The matter certainly needs a remedy as for many communities, not only are motorists stuck but there are environmental hazards and pedestrians are trapped – often unable to leave their homes to get to work or school or anywhere.
