Providenciales, TCI, November 7, 2016 – There was shocking information revealed by the DDME, the DECR and the Planning Department ahead of World Tsunami Day which was on Saturday November 5.   It is the first time for the global observance of this natural phenomenon which can prove so detrimental to so many and with such little warning.

The TCI needs to modernize its warning system; we need to get alternate routes out of communities like Blue Hills and the country may need to invest in tall structures in order to prevent a catastrophic loss of life.  Bottom line if a tsunami were to strike, everyone cannot get to the highest point fast enough and even if we all did, we would not all fit on the peak in Blue Mountain.

Today, Magnetic Media posts our interview with these entities as they share the challenges, the current plan and ways to survive in the Turks and Caicos in the event of a Tsunami.
