Providenciales, TCI, November 23, 2016 – The Integrity Commission has now published a register from the 52 nominees in the Turks and Caicos General Elections set for December 15.   Revealed is that there are at least 25 nominees who expressly say they have no contract with the Turks and Caicos Government and are not affiliated with any company that does have a contract.

The Law says that this must be declared.  Other interests and notices include scholarships received, land ownership and monies owed to Government for Crown Land and discounts given by government to some of the nominees for land ownership.   At least ten on the nomination list are on the government payroll.

Premier Rufus Ewing, Finance Minister Washington Misick, House Members Josephine Connolly, Sean Astwood and Delroy Williams, and House of Assembly hopefuls Mark Fulford, Ralph Higgs, Keno Forbes, Arthur Lightbourne and former government Minister, Sam Harvey are all paid by government for varied reasons; some with regular frequency, others getting jobs with TCIG from time to time.

From larger contracts including with Interhealth Canada and the National Health Insurance Board, to residential rental paid for the Special Prosecution team and members of the Police Force, Legal Aide paid in the SIPT trial, vehicle sales and maintenance, services like garbage collection and financial audits and signage and providing fuel and yes, at least two collect money from Government for rental space for government offices – 10 nominees fall within this category.

In that register, the Integrity Commission summarizes the disclosures, which is now available to the General Public.
