Providenciales, TCI, June 28, 2016 – The dates are released for the Progressive National Party’s primaries; they are set for July 11th here in Provo; July 12th in North and Middle Caicos; July 13th is for the South Caicos run off; Grand Turk candidates will be chosen on July 14thand the all island race will be decided within the PNP on July 15 and if necessary, says Party Chairman, Royal Robinson, July 16 can be added to the dates. You can see visible signs of the PNP readying itself for action as the party headquarters is getting a make-over ahead of these internal races. Robinson also confirmed reports that the PNP has asked some branch executives to step down from their posts; two chairpersons and a secretary were called to resign because they were reportedly trying to sway district voters toward their favorite PNP candidate in the primaries. The vote for who will represent the PNP in the upcoming general elections is an open race, as even the Party Leader and Premier’s at large spot is up for grabs. The process will be secret ballot.
