Providenciales, TCI, October 7, 2016 – Images of the damages to The Bahamas and the climbing death toll in Haiti continue to remind TCI that a miss with Matthew was a mighty big blessing.  PDA and PDM party leaders both issued comment on the passage of the storm.

Oswald Skippings of the Progressive Democratic Alliance said: “Now let us pray for the recovery and well-being of our less fortunate neighbors in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Cuba.  Safety for The Bahamas, the United States and elsewhere…”

While among the comments from PDM Leader, Sharlene Robinson was hope that, and I quote, “…when relief efforts do begin that we as residents will recall our not too distant past experience when we too needed assistance and how our neighbors did come to our aid.  I trust we consider the needs of those who in time past assisted us and will reciprocate such behavior.”

There has been no official comment so far from Government on the passage of Hurricane Matthew.
