Providenciales, TCI, October 31, 2016 – The PNP Administration had planned to introduce a CFO Ordinance Repeal Bill in the House of Assembly on November 7;but now with the House dissolved due to request by the Premier, who is leader of Government Business that bill will never get a first reading.

It has the Member for Five Cays, Sean Astwood questioning the logic of the PNP as right now, the Premier is in London attending the Joint Ministerial Council meeting where he on Sunday reminded media that he will have bi-lateral talks with the UK Foreign Minister about repealing the CFO Ordinance in order to end the tenure of the UK appointed and constitutionally entrenched, Chief Financial Officer.

Astwood says, ‘why did Rufus not wait to call the elections and deal with this first.’  The Premier last Thursday stunned many when he announced the election date for December 5, this original date, would have meant TCI Students abroad would not be able to participate in the General Elections due to it being examination time and it means that anything on the Order papers for the previously announced HOA sessions November 7 through 11 and November 21 through 25 would be left undone.

That includes the CFO Ordinance repeal bill.
