Providenciales, TCI, August 1, 2016 – Seventy-six illegals tried to break into the country over the weekend but were picked up on a rickety wooden vessel by the coastal radar.  The Marine police towed in the 25 females and 51 males without incident at South Dock.

The 76 Haitians were turned over the Immigration Department for processing.  It was revealed on Friday that soon, if Cabinet agrees, the Radar Team will be grafted into the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force and that new go fast boats will be purchased for police to more ably maneuver on the waters when it comes to human and drug interdiction efforts.
