Providenciales, TCI, July 21, 2016 – When the Overseas Territory country leaders met the media on opening day of their pre joint ministerial council meeting, the group confirmed through Premier Rufus Ewing that as the UK begins its deliberations of where to go following their citizens’ vote last month to exit the European Union, there could be changes in how the UK deals with even its OTs.

“Our relationship with the United Kingdom as well could also be impacted because of the various changes that is going on within the United Kingdom itself, but this is something in evolution, and our main goat coming out of this meeting is to collectively and also individually convene bilateral meetings with the United Kingdom ministry that is responsible for Brexit, so that we can have our issues and our concerns communicated to the United Kingdom government, so that they can take them under consideration during the negotiations with the EU during the departure.” – Hon. Rufus Ewing

Six country leaders and CARICOM are here for the sessions which close today and mark the first time the Turks and Caicos Islands has hosted the prestigious caucus.
