PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos – August 6th, 2016 – Seven Stars Resort & Spa is partnering with London based STORM Training and Development to create the Seven Stars Resort & Spa Leadership Programme, training and mentoring twelve Turks Island employees through a series of workshops designed to build the resort’s future managers and leaders. The inaugural program supports the resort’s mission of becoming one of the top resorts in the world by improving guest service through employee engagement and training. The first of its kind on the island, the Seven Stars Resort & Spa Leadership Programme will last two years and is currently offered to those who have been employed with the resort for at least one year and have a clear disciplinary record. Following a nomination process, the selected employees attended an interview with CEO Ken Patterson, HR Director Yolander Forbes and Fiona Rassell Managing Director of STORM Training & Development.

Attending the ceremony was the Hon. Donhue Gardiner, the Hon. Porsha Stubbs and the Hon. Josephine Connolly.

“We are thrilled to offer this innovative new program to develop our team’s leadership skills and facilitate their growth as managers and members of the community,” said Patterson. “Our staff work tirelessly to ensure all guests have an incredible visit. We know our dedicated employees are the reason we continue providing top-quality service to our guests, and hopefully will inspire future employees to join our team.”

In addition to eight workshops that include “Leading the Seven Stars Experience”, “Managing a Business” and “Professional Presentation Skills”, the resort has also partnered with Richard Stamper, a teacher from the United Kingdom, who works with international students to prepare them for the Cambridge Suit exams. He has prepared a bespoke parallel two-year programme in written English for the participants, preparing them to handle any written guest interaction.

The final assessment for graduation will consist of a final presentation and business based project presented to their department head and the resort’s senior management team.  Accreditation will be a graduation and certificate accredited by SSR and Storm Training and Development.

“These employees are the Seven Stars Resort & Spa best young Turks Island employees and during the next two years” said Yolander Forbes “they will each have a mentor from the Senior Management team. It is the company’s intention that as soon as they are ready they will be promoted into management positions as they become available. As a recent member of the Seven Stars Senior Management team myself I am excited to see the number of initiatives the resort has designed to further the careers of our Turks Island employees.”
