Providenciales, TCI, September 13, 2016 – Seven youngsters – 5 boys and 2 girls – were selected to represent themselves and the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Jumpstart regional training set for the British Virgin Islands.
Digicel and the NBA teamed up for the three day clinic held at the Gus Lightbourne Gym. Magnetic Media was there for the close out, we spoke to Brendan Handfield and Nickello Pierre who will travel, courtesy of the program, to the BVI.
“My name is Brendan Handfield and it’s an honor to get selected once again to go to the NBA JUMPSTART. I would like to thank my mom and my coaches for helping me, pushing me, for supporting me for giving me the drive to keep playing basketball.”
“My name is Nickello Pierre and I feel good getting selected to go off with the guys here, and I do all of this because of my mommy, and my daddy and my friends, I live in Five Cays and they’ve been motivating me to do well in basketball and all of them had faith in me making it, and I just do what I could do.”
