RBDF apprehends Dominican Fishermen

Coral Harbour Base,(RBDF), Bahamas, September 26, 2016On September 22, 2016(10) Dominicans from the Dominican Republic were apprehended by the Royal Bahamas Defence Force on board a Bahamian fishing vessel off Athol Island late last night after five of the Dominicans failed to produce proper immigration documentation.

While patrolling the Nassau Harbour area last night, members of the Defence Force Harbour Patrol Unit boarded and searched a 58-foot Bahamian registered steel hull vessel named Catalayah’s, off Athol Island near the eastern end of the harbour around 9 p. m.  Defence Force Marines then conducted an investigation aboard the Bahamian registered vessel at Potter’s Cay Dock late Thursday night, which resulted in the ten Dominican fishermen being handed over to Immigration Officials for further investigation.
