Providenciales, TCI, September 5, 2016 – He is charged with murdering two women in this year, 2016; one woman was killed in April – Yuneiry Veras and the other in July – Sorineida Arias; Christopher Forbes, was described to Magnetic Media as a Bahamian and a TCI Belonger and is represented by attorney, Arthur Hamilton.

Forbes, whose demeanor was hard to read, did not have to enter a plea as he stood before Magistrate Tanya Lobban-Jackson today, it is too early for that.

The court was closed to the public, including journalists as the Magistrate is mandated to clear the court of any audience in a matter of this seriousness; only the Supreme Court would have jurisdiction to hear from the defendant in a murder arraignment.

Minutes after 11:30am, Forbes who is a known bouncer at a local casino was carted into Court #1, handcuffed and shackled and to the sound of a relative calling his name; he turned his head and waved.

Inside, Forbes appeared fidgety but with a stoic expression.  He is a big guy, fit and strong physique.

The Dominican Community had a representative bunch, including Assistant Consular, Edwin Hernandez.  Also in the court, the investigating team led by ACP Stephen Snow.

Outside, there was armed guard for the protection of the suspect who was whisked away without incident.

The next appearance for Christopher Forbes is two months from now, Friday November 4th in Grand Turk for his sufficiency hearing.  Chris Forbes, formerly of Back of town, Grand Bahama and arrested in Millennium Heights, Provo last week Wednesday is remanded to prison; his attorney told us that he will seek bail.
