A filthy scene as trash is scattered along Leeward Highway

Providenciales, TCI, August 19, 2016 – Big, nasty mess on the Leeward Highway yesterday got Magnetic Media posting photos of the splatter of trash right on this main thoroughfare.  The reaction, was as it always is, appall at the audacity of some in the community to completely disregard warnings, notices and the laws of the land.

If you saw when this trash hit the ground on Leeward Hwy near the Southern Shores building, near the Haitian & Jamaican Consulate offices, please contact authorities.

Jamaican Consul, Allan Hutchinson said to us, “This is what you call lawlessness.  We need to charge a special fee for companies transporting garbage and mandate strict guidelines on how it is done.”  Hutchison continued with his suggestion, saying, “Plus hire some sanitation inspectors to patrol highways looking out for those polluters and empower them to levy $10,000 fines for offenders.  We must get tough with this kind of madness and irresponsibility by residents.” – Allan Hutchinson

By this morning, the trash in that area of Leeward Highway was cleaned up.
