CEO of InterCaribbean Airways, Trevor Sadler said those holders of Turks and Caicos e-passports will continue to enjoy the unique relationship where they can travel on a TCI Police record; and that it is fine for e-Passport holders who have a US Visa to travel in the States as is, but for those who are on the list of countries apart of the Visa Waiver Program, including the UK, they will need to get an ESTA else they will not be processed by airlines for travel into the United States.
The change has been in effect since April 1, 2016 according to online notices issued recently.
Sadler said their ICA flight into San Juan, Puerto Rico is affected by the new requirement and this means unless the traveler from one on the list of 38 countries has their Electronic System for Travel Authorization or ESTA; interCaribbean Airways would not be able to check them in and explained that even if they did, US authorities in San Juan are likely to turn the traveler back.
