108 Haitians intercepted thanks to radar

The coastal radar picked up on a wooden vessel over the weekend trying to illegally land in Providenciales.  On the boat were 100 men and eight women who were intercepted by TCI authorities and towed to South Dock in the wee hours of Sunday

Again, the vessel was dangerously overloaded with the migrants who are from Haiti and who will be immediately repatriated.

This all happens as Haiti makes headlines for its election results which remain in limbo; a special panel there reportedly has 30 days to verify the results so that the new country leaders can be named and instated and following news that before Brazil recorded a Zika outbreak in 2015, there was record of the mosquito borne virus already in Haiti…. as much as two months before officials even thought Zika was a regional threat.
