Providenciales, 02 Mar 2016 – No more old cars on the streets of the Turks and Caicos says Cabinet, as at that Tuesday meeting it was agreed that vehicles older than 10 years should not be allowed into the country anymore.

To determine if this is a viable way to go, the Cabinet has commissioned an ‘econometric modelling report by professional consultants on the economic, environmental and other impacts’ of such a bold decision.

Consideration will also be given to lower import duties on newer vehicles and rewarding residents who select cars or trucks which are more eco-friendly.
