World AIDS Day tree planting at TCI schools

Providenciales, 30 Nov 2015 – December 1st is World Aids Day and the HIV Prevention Unit is partnering with DEMA to plant trees in remembrance of the mission to get to zero.

The 2015 theme for World Aids Day is “Getting to Zero requires us to think!” There are also strong messages this year about getting tested, not discriminating and taking medication for those living with HIV and AIDS.

As for where in the TCI those trees will be planted, the Prevention Unit said at Precious Treasures, Enid Capron Primary, Provo Primary and Ianthe Pratt Primary.

The first planting is at 9am, all of the trees will be planted by noon. There are also walks to commemorate World Aids Day. In Provo – tomorrow – December 1 from Regent Village at 5:30pm to Ricky’s Flamingo Café and in Grand Turk from the HIV Prevention Unit to the Ridge Beach Access, at 6am on Saturday December 5.
