Premier to showcase TCI’s financial rebound at London meetings

Providenciales, 10 Nov 2015 – The Premier prepares to represent the Turks and Caicos Islands in December at the Joint Ministerial Council meetings in London.

His Excellency, Peter Beckingham explained that “The Joint Ministerial Council is an important forum for Premiers from the Overseas Territories to meet UK Ministers, exchange views and consider key common issues…. TCI has always made an important contribution on major topics, especially security, healthcare and economic developments.”

A 15 year plan will be a key focus for the countries attending that UK overseas territories meeting December 1-2.

The Premier also offered his thoughts ahead of the sessions, “I know that UK Ministers will be keen to hear firsthand about our recent economic successes, not least the re-financing of the UK-guaranteed loan and the impressive turnaround in our budget over the last two years. We have a strong story to tell London and other Territories.”

Minister with responsibility for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, FCO, James Duddridge is hosting.
